Just an office shot! I will be leaving for California for the weekend, so I won't be posting my photo daily until probably Monday. Don't worry, though - I will still be taking lots of photos!

On another note, just to brag a little - my photo from yesterday made it to #140 of the top 500 most interesting photos of the day yesterday on flickr. I keep watching to see if it will go up more. I am just excited that one of my photos made the top 500!!

I am realizing how difficult photography actually is. I had this idea in my head, but making it come out as an artistic photo is a whole different thing. I took about a million pictures, and only a few made the cut, even though I am still not completely happy with them. I guess I will have to continue to practice!! I wasn't quite sure what I was going to take a picture of today, but when I got home for lunch, I saw the perfect photo opportunity in my back yard. It took quite a few shots to get the lighting and the speed right, but I think this one turned out quite well.

I got home for lunch today to this. It looks like Max went to town with a roll of toilet paper that was left out. And here I thought he just slept while I was gone.....

Nothing artistic or of quality, but I had to laugh. I have the cutest puppy ever!!

Just a shot outside my house today. I went on a drive to see if I could get inspired, but didn't notice anything until I pulled back into my driveway!

Day 11

Max loves playing with his daddy!! He has loved having both Josh and I home so much this long weekend. I didn't take many pictures today, but I do love my dog and my husband! Also, Josh just got his new glasses, so I am showing that off as well.

Day 10

The aftermath of Thanksgiving.....This is the remains of what I would consider my best pie this Thanksgiving. The Sour Cream Apple Pie. I also made a pumpkin pie that turned out pretty good, a razzleberry pie that Josh said tasted good (but it looked terrible) and a coconut cream pie that Josh also said tasted good, but ended up really runny! It was a good Thanksgiving, and now I am just enjoying the long weekend.

Day 9

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! I took this photo as my mom was finishing off the turkey. Brooklyn, Kyler and Mykenna all wanted to help, and I love that in this photo all of them have horrified looks on their faces. I guess they didn't know what they were getting into!

Day 8

I went shopping for Thanksgiving today (I know, I'm a procrastinator - the day before Thanksgiving!!) Just thought I would show a real life shot today, of something going on in my life. Here is a picture of the groceries I had to buy for my contribution to Thanksgiving: at the Harroun's - a salad and 2 pies (coconut cream and razzleberry on request from Josh) and at the Mitchell's - 2 pies (apple crumb and pumpkin). I'll be busy tonight!!

This is my first attempt at a self-portrait. Unfortunately, I really think the light in the ceiling is quite distracting, but this is the best of the bunch. I did a little bit of editing on Picassa, but it's pretty limited. I just figure practice makes perfect!

I pulled up at work after my lunch break today, and saw this. I had never noticed it before, but I loved how you could see the mountains with snow in the background. I am amazed at how many things I notice around me now that I didn't see before. I think that not only is this blog going to help me become a better photographer, but it will also help me to appreciate the world around me.

I love this picture because it shows what a typical evening looks like at our house. For some reason, Max was really tired today, and he loved cuddling with his daddy while he slept.

Josh and I are going up to Salt Lake tonight to celebrate our anniversary (which was last weekend.) I want to post a picture of us celebrating, but I wanted to make sure I posted a picture today, so I might cheat tomorrow and use a picture I take tonight.....we'll see. I took this picture this morning, and when I downloaded it, I had to giggle. I didn't even realize that his paw was on the football when I took this picture. I love how it looks like he is getting ready to hike the football. The photo itself is not that great (terrible shadows) but I thought it was really funny!

I was having a hard time spotting something to take a picture of today - not a good sign since I'm only on day 3!! I am hoping to get a good moon picture one of these days, but the moon was not in sight tonight. Hopefully tomorrow I will be feeling more creative.

I am on a fruit kick, I guess. I was really hoping to get some cute pictures of the nephews and nieces, but with such a small memory card and no tripod, it was impossible. I need to go to the store tomorrow for camera accessories!

Day 1

I am re-starting my picture a day. I had a small hiccup because I accidentally left my camera at my sister's house, causing me to miss a few days. I decided to wait until I got my new camera, and it has arrived!! I don't know how to use it very well, so hopefully photos will get better in time (although I kind of like today's post!!)
