It's strange that I chose New Year's Eve to not take very many photos!! This is a picture of Tiana after she opened her Christmas gift from us. We were a little late in getting the gifts to the inlaws since we were gone for Christmas. She reminds me of a doll. What a cutie!!

We want to give my in-laws a picture of us, so we went to a nearby school today and shot some pictures. This was one of my favorites. It was cold outside, and the dog was acting crazy, so I didn't shoot a ton, but I'm glad a few of them came out.

Bad news - I went to bed last night with a sore throat and woke up with a sore throat, achy body, and huge headache. And now Josh is feeling sick as well and has been throwing up. Good news - I don't have to be back to work until Wednesday. It's time to relax and have a lazy night at home so hopefully we can recuperate to enjoy New Year's festivities.

Max got another green frog for Christmas. In fact, all of the toys he got were green for some reason - I guess my family has decided that green is his favorite color. He was pooped today and gladly fell asleep in the chair with his new green froggy.

What a wonderful present to come home to!! My in-laws got us a table for Christmas, which was much needed and extremely appreciated. Now both my husband and I can eat at the same time without having to fight off the dog like we used to. It has been so nice!

We spent Christmas day snowmobiling in Idaho. On our way to return the snowmobiles, I was riding with my husband when we got stuck near where I took this photo. I guess it wasn't so bad, though, because I was able to take some pictures. You can't tell from this picture, but when I was walking around, the snow about 10 yards from this lake was about 4 feet deep. I got quite a workout!!

My family went to Idaho and rented a cabin for Christmas this year. It was a lot of fun, and there was tons of snow!! I took lots of pictures of the nieces and nephews because they are so cute! I had a whole photo shoot with Mykenna and her icicle.

I have a co-worker to thank for this shot. He informed me of the secret roses this morning. He stopped and took some pictures this morning, but I was lucky enough to stop today after it had started snowing a bit. I was amazed to find roses still alive in this weather. Best viewed large. I had to laugh, because this reminded me of the shot of Tom Cruise with Suri in his jacket....sans Katie, of course! Max loves to be inside my husbands or my jacket - especially when we are going outside and it is cold. What a wimp! I played around in a trial version of PS CS2 - I have no idea what I am doing, but it helped the original version a bit.

The Bathroom

I know it's a really cheesy picture today, but I am so excited!!! After living in our house for about 8 months, Josh and Ben finally put the bathroom fixtures (towel hooks, toilet paper holder, etc) up. We also replaced the blanket that has been covering the window with curtains, so the bathroom is almost complete. I can't believe how different it looks, and I love it!!

We bought a fixer-upper and spent the first few months doing major renovations - practically everything in the house is now brand new. It has been quite a project, but a lot of fun. We still have quite a bit of work to do, but it is fun watching everything come together.

For as long as I can remember, my parents give each of us kids a box of chocolate covered cherries wrapped under the tree. I don't really know why - I don't think any of us love them. In fact, I think I threw away half of my box last June or July. I do like them (I thoroughly enjoyed eating this one!) but one is usually enough to satisfy my Christmas cherry craving!

Max loves playing with his daddy!! He has loved having both Josh and I home so much this long weekend. I didn't take many pictures today, but I do love my dog and my husband! Also, Josh just got his new glasses, so I am showing that off as well.

Day 10

The aftermath of Thanksgiving.....This is the remains of what I would consider my best pie this Thanksgiving. The Sour Cream Apple Pie. I also made a pumpkin pie that turned out pretty good, a razzleberry pie that Josh said tasted good (but it looked terrible) and a coconut cream pie that Josh also said tasted good, but ended up really runny! It was a good Thanksgiving, and now I am just enjoying the long weekend.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! I took this photo as my mom was finishing off the turkey. Brooklyn, Kyler and Mykenna all wanted to help, and I love that in this photo all of them have horrified looks on their faces. I guess they didn't know what they were getting into!

Day 8

I went shopping for Thanksgiving today (I know, I'm a procrastinator - the day before Thanksgiving!!) Just thought I would show a real life shot today, of something going on in my life. Here is a picture of the groceries I had to buy for my contribution to Thanksgiving: at the Harroun's - a salad and 2 pies (coconut cream and razzleberry on request from Josh) and at the Mitchell's - 2 pies (apple crumb and pumpkin). I'll be busy tonight!!

I pulled up at work after my lunch break today, and saw this. I had never noticed it before, but I loved how you could see the mountains with snow in the background. I am amazed at how many things I notice around me now that I didn't see before. I think that not only is this blog going to help me become a better photographer, but it will also help me to appreciate the world around me.

Josh and I are going up to Salt Lake tonight to celebrate our anniversary (which was last weekend.) I want to post a picture of us celebrating, but I wanted to make sure I posted a picture today, so I might cheat tomorrow and use a picture I take tonight.....we'll see. I took this picture this morning, and when I downloaded it, I had to giggle. I didn't even realize that his paw was on the football when I took this picture. I love how it looks like he is getting ready to hike the football. The photo itself is not that great (terrible shadows) but I thought it was really funny!

I am re-starting my picture a day. I had a small hiccup because I accidentally left my camera at my sister's house, causing me to miss a few days. I decided to wait until I got my new camera, and it has arrived!! I don't know how to use it very well, so hopefully photos will get better in time (although I kind of like today's post!!)
