I will admit - I am a American Idol fanatic!! I just had to go out and get Katharine McPhee's debut CD when it came out. I haven't had a chance to really listen to it yet, but I am excited. One of my favorite CD's right now is Carrie Underwood. What would I do without American Idol????

This moon had been staring all afternoon long, begging me to take it's picture. My camera is not the best at taking a picture of the moon if it's not dark outside - this is the best of the bunch. Most were just big white blobs.

I'm not sure what this is, but I thought it was unique and beautiful!!

We enjoyed above freezing temperatures today by going for a walk along the Provo/Jordan river parkway. What a great trail!! I decided that I could probably do a whole picture-a-day project just along this trail! So beautiful, even in the dead of winter.

There is a story behind this....

I didn't get to work out this morning for the second time this week. Last night was a long night. Those of you without dogs probably won't understand - hey, even those of you with dogs may not even understand!!

Max would not sleep last night. He sleeps in bed with us, so it is very noticeable when he is jumping in and out of bed. Finally, at 1:30am, I took him for a drive because he usually falls asleep in the car with the heater on. We drove for an hour before he finally fell asleep. When I got home at 2:30am, I couldn't sleep, so I was up until 4am, waking at 6:30am to get ready for work. I'm exhausted.....

I actually tried to do a little bit of photoshop on this, but considering my slim knowledge of the program, this is the best I could come up with. I'm learning though!

This is week 4 of my 52 weeks. I had this idea in my head and would have liked to find a more interesting brick wall, but I wanted to take this today before it got too dark. I'm halfway pleased with it.

I took this photo for the fruit theme at The World Through My Eyes (on flickr). I have several fruit photos already, but used this as an excuse to take another!! This didn't come out as clearly as I wanted it to, but it was the best I could do on my lunch break. I'm trying to find some daylight time to get in some photos. Although it took my whole lunch break - it was worth it!

This is my first attempt at one of the Utata projects. Stairs....hmmmmm.....you would think that stairs would be easy to find. I drove around for an hour today looking, and this is what I could come up with. I don't love it, but at least it got me out looking!

Today was a really bad photo day. I won't go into detail, but it was a bad day. I took this at the end of the day, realizing that I hadn't taken a shot for the day yet. This tree is in my neighbor's yard, and the streetlight shines down on it. I always thought it looked kind of scary....

Max basically refuses to pose for pictures. I was outside with him this morning, trying to get a decent picture, but all that he would let me get was him walking away. I thought it was cute with the puppy tracks in the snow, though!

Who are You Calling Shrimp?

I was craving seafood and had some shrimp, so I cooked them up for dinner tonight.

Every day I keep wishing that I didn't have to work. It's hard to get creative and inspired to take good pictures when you are in an office building while the sun is out. I need to start taking more advantage of my weekends - and I am definitely looking forward to warmer weather and longer days.

Today is day 60 of my Photo a Day project!! It seems like time has flown, and although I still have A LOT more time to go, I am having a blast. Some days, I'm not feeling the creativity, but I'm proud to say that I haven't skipped one day! Here's to 305 more!!

Side note - I am a dork!! I was just looking through my entries, and realized that today is actually day 62 - I mis-numbered 2 of the days!! Goodness.....

We had a baby shower today for one of the girls I work with. i didn't know a lot of the girls there, but you could tell that it is always great to get just the girls together when most are used to spending their whole days with just their kids!

I wish the bracelets would have been a little sharper - that was kind of the idea I was going for, but this is what I got. Oh well....

We had a storm go through here last night and this morning. When I got home today, the sky was a perfect view, and the clouds looked amazing hovering down over the mountains. I really wish I had a great place to take pictures of the mountains, sometimes. It is so hard when there are houses and businesses, and power lines all in the way. It makes me want to live in the country - but to be able to take the mountains with me!!

We have a snowstorm that moved in this afternoon. It's supposed to be short lived, but it is still snowing right now.

I didn't really take many pictures today. I was going to on my lunch break, but forgot my camera at work. I spent the evening with my husband, so I didn't really have a chance to do anything very creative. We took a trip to Home Depot, and on the way stopped at the grocery store. I was in the car with the dog while he ran in, and I just started snapping pictures. I thought it was kind of fun how it doesn't look like snow, but like feathers, or cotton.

I love being able to wear makeup to cover any of my flaws.
I love being able to have long hair, or short hair, or curling my hair or straightening my hair
I love wearing pink
I love being able to cry for no reason
I love smelling good
I love being able to decorate and cook, and to feel at home doing it
I love knowing that one day I will be a mother
but for now I am a daughter, a sister and a wife
I love getting manicures, and pedicures
I love having smooth legs
I love wearing heels, even though my feet hurt so bad at the end of the day sometimes
I love carrying a purse

My Little Bit of OCD

I have found the cure when I am feeling uncreative - The World Through My Eyes scavenger hunt on flickr!! This is my first time attempting it, but who would've known to take pictures of towels!!

I am a believer that everyone has some sort of quirk - a little bit of OCD. This is one of mine. I HAVE to have the towels folded a certain way. It's the way my mom folded them, and the only way I know. If someone else folds my towels and folds them differently, I will go back and change them all! (I am also particular about the direction the toilet paper is on the wall - I will even change it at a stranger's house if it's not on the right way!!)

I actually saw a shot like this on my banking website. I liked it, so I thought I would give it a try. I don't think it turned out horrible, but not exactly what I pictured in my head. I guess I'll just take it as a learning experience. I have learned so much in the last 51 days of my Photo a Day project. I will just keep trying to improve!!

I saw this moon this morning, and there were lots of eerie looking clouds out again. I didn't manage to get a shot where both the moon and the clouds looked good, but at least I got a couple with the moon. And I'm so glad my husband got me a new tripod for Christmas - it really made it much easier!!

My husband and I had a debate the other day about what tastes better - a peeled orange or a sliced one. He thinks the sliced, but I definitely have to say peeled. It is a lot more work, and I hate getting all of the orange rind stuck in my fingernails, but YUMMMM!

I got lucky today, because I not only saw a beautiful sight when I first went out this morning , but also a beautiful sight as I was getting home from work. This is basically the only spot in my front yard that I can take a picture without getting all of the power lines. I thought it turned out pretty, though.

I was on my way home from the gym this morning and saw such beautiful colors in the sky. Of course I didn't have my camera with me, so I rushed home and grabbed it and drove down the street to try to capture the colors. I barely made it in time, and was glad to capture it.
